{"id":783,"date":"2020-03-04T06:00:34","date_gmt":"2020-03-04T11:00:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.westlakebaptist.org\/blog\/?p=783"},"modified":"2020-03-03T14:05:39","modified_gmt":"2020-03-03T19:05:39","slug":"is-god-weak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.westlakebaptist.org\/blog\/is-god-weak\/","title":{"rendered":"Is God Weak?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Have you ever found yourself in what felt like or looked like an impossible situation?\u00a0\u00a0As a Christian, we profess to believe that God is all-powerful, that He can change anyone and anything at any moment because He is God.\u00a0\u00a0Yet, does our life sometimes reflect something different than what we profess?\u00a0\u00a0It doesn\u2019t make it right, but we are not alone.\u00a0\u00a0We are going to see this in Moses\u2019 life in our post for Blogging Through The Bible In 2020.\u00a0\u00a0Numbers 11:23 says, \u201cAnd the Lord said to Moses, \u2018Has the Lord\u2019s arm been shortened?\u00a0\u00a0Now you shall see whether what I say will happen to you or not.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n<span class='bctt-click-to-tweet'><span class='bctt-ctt-text'><a href='https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.westlakebaptist.org%2Fblog%2Fis-god-weak%2F&#038;text=Do%20we%20sometimes%20forget%20that%20God%20is%20the%20same%20yesterday%20as%20He%20has%20always%20been%3F&#038;via=revlikens&#038;related=revlikens' target='_blank'rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Do we sometimes forget that God is the same yesterday as He has always been? <\/a><\/span><a href='https:\/\/twitter.com\/intent\/tweet?url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.westlakebaptist.org%2Fblog%2Fis-god-weak%2F&#038;text=Do%20we%20sometimes%20forget%20that%20God%20is%20the%20same%20yesterday%20as%20He%20has%20always%20been%3F&#038;via=revlikens&#038;related=revlikens' target='_blank' class='bctt-ctt-btn'rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Click To Tweet<\/a><\/span>\n\n\n<p>The people are once again complaining against God and Moses in Numbers 11.\u00a0\u00a0God had been supernaturally supplying them with manna since they left Egypt.\u00a0\u00a0There was never a day that they lacked what they needed.\u00a0\u00a0Yet, we see them unhappy with God\u2019s provisions.\u00a0\u00a0They wanted meat.\u00a0\u00a0In their sinfulness, they actually tried to say that they were better off living in Egypt where they were slaves.\u00a0\u00a0Their reasoning for saying they were better off in Egypt?\u00a0\u00a0They ate better. God comes to Moses and tells him, I hear the complaints of the people.\u00a0\u00a0Tomorrow, I\u2019m going to provide them with so much meat, they won\u2019t know what to do with it is.\u00a0\u00a0I\u2019m going to give them so much, it\u2019s going to be coming out of their noses.\u00a0\u00a0This is where we see Moses waiver in his faith.\u00a0Moses looks around and says, \u201cLord, you do know that there are 600,000 men right?\u00a0\u00a0How are you going to give us that much meat?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0In typical God fashion, God answers Moses\u2019 question with a question.\u00a0\u00a0The question is this, \u201cHas the Lord\u2019s arm been shortened?\u201d\u00a0\u00a0In other words, God is asking, have I somehow lost some power and ability to provide for you and the Israelites?\u00a0\u00a0Am I not the same God who spared Israel from the death plague that swept through Egypt?\u00a0\u00a0Am I not the same God who miraculously parted the Red Sea so that you and the nation of Israel could cross over on dry ground?\u00a0\u00a0Am I not the same God that provided manna for you all to eat, and gave you water to drink out of a rock?\u00a0\u00a0Am I not that same God?\u00a0\u00a0God was rebuking Moses for his lack of faith in God\u2019s power to provide for His people.\u00a0\u00a0In a very real sense, Moses was calling into question God\u2019s love for Israel.\u00a0\u00a0There is a story in the New Testament, during Jesus\u2019 ministry where something similar happens.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus has been teaching, and the people have been following Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus stops, and He asks the question, where are we going to get enough food for all these people to eat?\u00a0\u00a0It was 5,000 men in this story, so when you add the women and children in, it could have easily been a crowd of 10,000+ people. The disciples, like Moses, doubted. Within the crowd, a boy who had five loaves of bread and two fish was discovered and brought to Jesus.\u00a0\u00a0Jesus told the disciples to have the crowd sit down.
