Worship Service and Fellowship

About Westlake Baptist Church

A Brief History

Westlake Baptist Church officialy held its first worship service June 22, 2003 with Dr. Joe Taylor presiding; he served our congregation for the next seven years. Work had begun on our new church building eighteen months earlier. The land our Church is built on was donated with groundbreaking held in 2001. Our old building was sold prior to the completion of our new church buliding and services were held in the fellowship hall for approximately two years.

Each day after lunch, church members and workers held Bible study, followed by prayer for guidance in the days to come. God was always faithful. Our church family has been under the leadership of Reverend Justin Likens since January 2009.

We are a Southern Baptist Church who believes:
  • In the inerrancy of Scripture (2 Tim. 3:16)
  • In the substitutionary death of Jesus on the cross for the sins of the world (2 Cor. 5:15)
  • All men are fallen, sinful people who deserve God's eternal judgment (Rom. 3:23, 6:23)
  • Upon death all people will go to one of two eternal places:
  • The unsaved will go to the lake of fire (Rev. 20:11-15)
  • The saved will go to heaven (John 14:1-3; 2 Cor. 5:8; Luke 23:43)
  • In the Pre-Tribulational return of Christ for His bride, the church (1 Cor. 15:51-54; 1 Thess. 4:13-18)
